Your Data and Security in AccountEdge AI

How AccountEdge AI connects to your data, what syncs, encryption, and what happens if you cancel.

This is usually the first question people have, so here's the short version: AccountEdge AI can read your company file data to build reports. It cannot write to your company file, it never uses your data to train AI models, and it holds SOC 2 Type II compliance. Your data in AccountEdge stays exactly as it is.

Read-only access

The connection between AccountEdge AI and your company file is read-only. Data flows from AccountEdge into AccountEdge AI only — nothing writes back into your company file. Think of it as a window into your data, not a door.

What syncs

AccountEdge AI syncs your company file data: chart of accounts, transactions, invoices, bills, journal entries, customers, vendors, and payroll. Your first sync takes time based on the size of your company file. After that, syncing runs on the schedule you set — hourly by default — so your reports stay current. How AccountEdge AI Syncing Works has the full details.

Isolation

Analysis runs per company file. AccountEdge AI never combines your data across company files or with another customer's data.

Your data is never used for training

Your company file data is used only to build your reports. It is never used to train AI models and is never shared with other customers.

Encryption and compliance

AccountEdge AI runs on the secure infrastructure of Google Cloud Platform. AES-256 encrypts your data at rest. TLS 1.2+ encrypts your data in transit. AccountEdge AI holds SOC 2 Type II compliance.

If you cancel

If you cancel AccountEdge AI, your account and its projects are deleted. Export anything you want to keep, as PDF, Excel or CSV, before you cancel. Your company file in AccountEdge is never affected — it stays exactly as it was, with all your data intact.
