How AccountEdge AI Syncing Works

How syncing works between AccountEdge and AccountEdge AI — schedule, one-way sync, advanced settings, and Force Sync.

AccountEdge AI stays current on its own. Once you set up, you don't need to remember to sync. Setup performs the initial sync. After that, you set your sync schedule inside AccountEdge.

Your first sync

Your first sync takes time based on the size of your company file. A date and time stamp in AccountEdge confirms the data finished sending. The AccountEdge AI server then ingests the data. This also takes time based on the amount sent. You won't be able to enter a prompt until ingestion completes — if you open AccountEdge AI too early, you'll see Initial sync is still in process.

How syncs are triggered

You trigger syncs in AccountEdge, manually or on a schedule. AccountEdge AI never triggers them.

  • Opening AccountEdge starts a sync automatically when you choose a time-based schedule, like hourly.

  • After that, syncing follows your schedule. Hourly is the default.

  • Switch to Manual sync at any time.

  • To sync right away, click Sync AccountEdge AI on the AI tab.

Projects always reflect your data as of the last completed sync.

One-way sync

Syncing runs one way. Data flows from AccountEdge into AccountEdge AI only. Nothing writes back into your company file.

Advanced settings

In AccountEdge AI Setup, open Advanced to control batching. Batch Processing sets how many batches sync at once. Records per Batch sets how many records each batch sends. In both cases, we recommend using the default.

Force Sync

If you suspect you have errors, or it is suggested by a tech support rep, you can Force Sync any time. In AccountEdge, go to the AI tab > Manage AccountEdge AI > Advanced > Force Sync Now to send all new data to the AccountEdge AI server.

Unlinking

Unlinking stops your company file from syncing with AccountEdge AI. Your company file in AccountEdge is never affected.
