Some customers attempt to open company files by double-clicking on the file itself. The file is usually opened with AccountEdge.
Occasionally, when double-clicking on the file, another application attempts to open the file. Frequently, the other application is the Optimization Assistant.
To correct this:
On the Mac
Click once on the file
Select Get Info from the File drop-down menu at the top of the screen
Change the Open With application to AccountEdge
On Windows
Right-click on the file
Select Properties from the popup menu
Change the Opens With application to AccountEdge
