Company File Opens with Optimization Assistant

Some customers attempt to open company files by double-clicking on the file itself. The file is usually opened with AccountEdge.

Occasionally, when double-clicking on the file, another application attempts to open the file. Frequently, the other application is the Optimization Assistant.

To correct this:

  • On the Mac

    • Click once on the file

    • Select Get Info from the File drop-down menu at the top of the screen

    • Change the Open With application to AccountEdge

  • On Windows

    • Right-click on the file

    • Select Properties from the popup menu

    • Change the Opens With application to AccountEdge
