GST and PST Reports
To view GST and PST reports go to the top menu bar and select Reports > Index to Reports. Select the Sales Tax tab at the top of this window.
These reports will show GST and PST sales taxes collected and paid as a result of Purchases, Sales, and Spend and Receive Money transactions, for a given date range. The report can be customized to report on specific Sales Tax Codes. Customers should use this report to settle sales tax liabilities.
The values shown in these reports may not match the values in the sales tax liability accounts. One example is the posting of Provincial Sales Tax paid. Although AccountEdge records the tax paid based on its sales tax code, the actual posting may not be made to the sales tax liability account. (It is recorded as an expense nonetheless.) Another example is the case where journal entries are made directly to the sales tax liability accounts. These transactions would not be tracked since no sales tax code is associated with the transaction.
