AccountEdge includes powerful Diagnostic Tools should our Tech Support team need to assist you when investigating and addressing an issue. You can access these tools via the File > Diagnostic Tools menu.

Important: Please use these tools ONLY when directed by an AccountEdge Tech Support representative.

What are the Diagnostic Tools?

The Diagnostic Tools include:

• Diagnostic Verification checks your company file for errors and creates a 'VerificationLog' file. Our Tech Support team uses this log to determine the best course of action, if errors are found.

• Data Repair Options offer routines for repairing common balancing errors, (e.g.) account balances, retained earnings, and item balances.

If an automated fix is unavailable during verification, the log will detail which tests are failing and provide our Tech Support team with the necessary information to manually repair the file.

Note: If manual intervention is required, you may be asked to securely submit your Company File to Customer Care for repair. ($300 minimum charge)
