If FileConnect isn't working properly, a clean uninstall and reinstall can resolve the issue. Follow the instructions for your platform below.
Windows
To Uninstall:
Navigate to Control Panel > Uninstall A Program > Uninstall "AccountEdge FileConnect"
Navigate to C: > Program Files > Delete the folder "AccountEdge FileConnect"
Navigate to C: > Program Data > AccountEdge NE > Delete "fileconnectsettings.plist"
To Reinstall:
Open AccountEdge NE and before logging in (on the main Welcome Window), click Company File Maintenance (bottom-right drop-down) > Download FileConnect. This downloads the latest version — open the download and follow the installation steps.
Mac
To Uninstall:
Verify FileConnect is not running: Apple menu > System Preferences > AccountEdge. If FileConnect is running, click "Stop FileConnect."
Click anywhere on your desktop so the menu bar shows "Finder."
Go to Go > Computer, then click into your hard drive (Macintosh HD or equivalent).
Open the Library folder and delete the following files:
/Library/Preferences — delete com.acclivity.fileconnect.plist
/Library/PreferencePanes — delete AccountEdge.prefpane
/Library/LaunchDaemons — delete com.acclivity.fileconnect.plist
/Library/Application Support/Acclivity — delete FileConnect and FileConnectHelper
5. Navigate to /Users/Shared/Library/Application Support and delete fileConnectSettings.plist*
* Some versions of AccountEdge may not include this file.
To Reinstall:
Open AccountEdge NE, then click Company File Maintenance (bottom-right drop-down on the Welcome Window) > Download FileConnect. This opens your browser to download the latest version. Double-click the download to install, then restart your Mac. After restart, confirm FileConnect is running under System Preferences > AccountEdge.
